There’s something in being an immigrant
All of Clara.Ventures partners have been immigrants to the US. There’s something about arriving at a new place, knowing no one. You have to find your way. We think that’s a learnt skill, similar to what’s needed to build a business.

A proprietary network built on helping each other
We are immigrants from Spain and Latin America in the US. And we can attract and help other immigrants that are working for top US StartUps, finishing technical PhDs at top Universities, wanting to build companies. We help with intros, contacts, customers and investment. We try to keep a tight network and have multiple ways to vet our members.

There’s no better place than the USA to sell
For some reason (we could talk for hours) it’s easier to sell in the US than elsewhere. Operations can be in Europe or Latam, but we only invest in businesses that have the US as their primary market.

Extraordinary profiles
With a small fund, we can’t be aware of all the trends, read all the papers or meet everyone. Our lighting guides are people. Does someone have a deep passion and expertise? Has someone demonstrated obsession and resilience? Is it a simple business that makes sense? Finding extraordinary profiles is our obsession.

A way in which everyone wins
Entrepreneurs with similar profiles that have exited business in the USA are our LPs. We connect second timers with first timers both through investments and connections.

Being aware of our limits
We are not a huge fund or a huge community. That’s by design. We are aware of our limits, and if we can’t help, we'll refer you to other people who may be more useful.

It’s not us. Sorry to disappoint. There’s sexier funds, flashier investors, better valuations. If that’s what you are looking for; again, sorry to disappoint.

How we work
We offer pre seed investment alongside advisory, and connections. We can connect you to other entrepreneurs, potential customers, PMs and engineers, or anything else we may be able to do but may not be aware of.
